Our Story

In 2007, founder Julian Burrell was working in a luxury apartment on Sutton Place in New York City when inspiration struck. While serving that client, the name You And Us came to him — a name built on the idea of partnership and trust.

On September 9, 2009, Julian turned that vision into reality. With nothing more than a 1999 green Toyota Camry and a promise to “give more than we get paid for,” he launched a small air conditioning and refrigeration company dedicated to serving New Yorkers.

Sixteen years later, You and Us Heating & Air Conditioning has grown into a trusted HVAC-R contractor serving homeowners, commercial businesses, and city agencies across New York.

What hasn’t changed is our core philosophy: asking our customers and technicians, “What more can we do to become better?”

The HVAC-R industry has evolved dramatically, and so have we. Today, we design, engineer, install, and maintain complete comfort systems — from heating, air conditioning, and ventilation to refrigeration, water heaters, and energy recovery ventilation (ERV) systems.

At You and Us Heating & Air Conditioning, we employ highly trained HVAC-R technicians and steamfitter specialists to handle all contracted work. This ensures every project is completed safely, professionally, and to the highest standards.

Our technicians:

• Complete trade school before working on-site.

• Participate in ongoing training to stay current with the latest HVAC-R technologies.

• Hold OSHA and New York State safety certifications.

• Carry required New York City Fire Department certifications (G60 Torch Use of Flammable Gases and F60 Fire Guard for Torch Operation).

• Maintain additional safety credentials, including Confined Space, Silica, and Scaffolding certifications.

Our office staff are professional, courteous, and committed to excellent service. They undergo training with New York City agencies to improve efficiency in scheduling, documentation, and project coordination — ensuring your experience is smooth from start to finish.
